Initial Reactions

Wow! The finale was a shocker! Most likely you were shocked, too.

These are my initial reactions only: after watching the episode twice and reading two interviews done with executive producer, SN. One is on TV/line and the other is on Give Me My Remote. The second interview (GMMR) was crude and insulting and didn't add any warm fuzzies to my sad viewpoint.

Why should we believe that B&B have a relationship? I have seen no obvious signs of it since before the 100th. It seemed like it was SLOWLY getting back to normal after the blizzard episode, but it never developed. Instead we got an imagined sex scene which was confirmed to be just that... only sex. Before the finale, I believed that they had made love and I was okay that I didn't see it. But the finale proved that it had nothing to do with love. It was only sex. Brennan had to actually tell Booth that he was the father. Very insulting. There was affection at the end of Hole in the Heart. I personally saw none of that in the finale. B&B had to be told to show affection when we got to see a kiss on the cheek. Booth still walks next to Brennan with enough space for the Holy Spirit unless Bren links arms. What happened to Booth's hand at the small of her back? If I had seen that, just that, I could believe they were in a relationship that was moving forward with trust and love.

Not only have we had to endure Booth and Hannah talking about their sex life, we've had to see PDA and a few times going to bed or finishing up in bed together. One episode started with them in bed... makes me want to puke. We've seen Booth in bed after sex with Cam and Rebecca, too. And we don't even get a real kiss between B&B. Where is the relationship HH and SN want us to believe exists? And I'm tired of reading and hearing that they've had a relationship for 6 years. Huh? Booth wanted nothing to do with Brennan for over half of the season. The Hannah arc ruined everything for a believable B&B relationship. It could have worked, but HH and SN failed to deliver a believable story this season.

Before the finale, I was considering buying season 6 on DVD and just not watching the first 10 episodes ever again, but the finale made everything in the season's 2nd half a huge mockery.

It seems like everything before season 6 was a lie. Crappy sex vs making love... making love doesn't seem to exist for Booth anymore or on the show in general. Season 4: Booth didn't want a baby with Bones unless they had a committed relationship. We can say anything to each other... right Bones? (Season 5 Bond in the Boot). Of course we know that wasn't completely true with feelings. But now, in the Pinocccio episode, we hear Booth make a toast to things unsaid. Seriously?

I do believe that Brennan being pregnant will create some fun bickering and bantering but only if they're in a committed relationship. If they are only friends and partners after a one night stand, then it will be bickering out of annoyance from Booth like when he was with Hannah. That is not funny and it is not entertaining. After reading two interviews with SN, I'm concerned about B&B, but if they are careful, they can fix things. They won't ever be able to cover-up all the mistakes in season 6, but I'm hoping that good can come from the ashes.

I will post some ideas that may be possible within the next couple of days. My son just had major surgery and when he's sleeping, I can be on the computer. (My family and I have shifts.) Right now I gotta run. It's my sleep time (middle of the day) and will be for awhile.

Episode 6x22 – The Hole in the Heart

WARNING: This is long, but the sections are labeled so you can skip over things if you’d like.

There was so much going on in this episode that I’m intimidated at writing a review but at the same time can’t help myself to attempt it. My hubby thinks I’m crazy… crazy in a good way, though. LOL! So far, I’ve watched it three times and I’ve spent quite a bit of time reading other viewers’ perspectives to see if I want to revise any of my opinions, or more likely, strengthening my own. I haven’t even touched the tip of the ice berg. There are so many people talking online about this episode because it was so well done. I like it better the more I watch and read. I’m really hung up on which episode is my favorite of the season: last week’s Signs in the Silence or this week’s The Hole in the Heart.

Jake Broadsky/The Case

I have really enjoyed this arc. He’s been the perfect foe for Booth. I didn’t really understand the opening scene but understand how it drove the episode’s plot… Matt L. was playing for the wrong side just by defying Jake. The part that didn’t make sense: Why did he need to borrow his rifle? Didn’t get it. I like how Booth openly worked with Sweets on this case. His insight was spot on: He’s finding people who he believed deserved to die and found people to pay him for it. He figured out that after he took out Booth, he would be coming for the rest of Booth’s team. He professionally disagreed that Booth shouldn’t have shot him in the back but personally he didn’t really have a problem with the idea. Sweets tied it all up for me in a way that made all the sniper episodes make sense to me.

I was surprised at first that Broadsky was after Booth because he was interfering with his missions. What a sick guy… he thought it was self-defense? Right. And then he managed to twist his theory that self-defense required an aggressive offense. My guess is that he always had the tendency to go down this road in life when he was in the army and believed he was the left hand of God. The army unknowingly taught him the skills he needed to become a deadly force on the wrong side of justice. That’s my opinion anyway.

I love at the end that Broadsky was so surprised by Booth knowing his hand was broken. I love it when Brennan’s findings help Booth with a fight! I loved the whole hunt. Booth successfully getting the bad guy is hot! LOL Can’t help it. Love it! But I also loved how Hodgins was able to help Brennan interpret things for Booth. Booth’s “You may have just saved my life,” was probably my favorite part of that scene.

Does anyone know why Broadsky wanted to be in the shipping yard?

Agent Genny Shaw

I really liked her character which surprised me. When I heard she would be part of the plot, I immaturely was unhappy. I blame it on the Hannah arc. I think I can handle almost anything that happens on the show except for anymore SOs and just the thought of another female coming into Booth’s life made my cringe. But I was happy with Genny’s character. Booth acted as a nice mentor for her and seeing him as being needed probably allowed him to accept a partner. (Before Brennan, he was determined to work alone.) I’m also thinking that his experience of teaching other soldiers in Afghanistan had prepared him for such a role.

I’ve been reading about fans wanting to see a relationship between Genny and Sweets or Genny and Wendell. I don’t see how a ship with Sweets would work since they both work for the FBI. Then again, it would be fun to see them fight their feelings and Sweets realize what B&B were going through.

Angela & Brennan

Finally! I was starting to wonder if they were even friends anymore.

So… about that conversation between them: I personally think it’s possible that B&B did make love. Why?

Of course, the smile was just so unBrennan-like. If they just talked, Brennan would have been upfront and literal about it. But making love and letting go the last of her imperviousness? That is not something that Brennan would be comfortable talking about. She wouldn’t have come right out and said they had sex because that’s not what it would have been.

Second, she started the conversation with sharing that she got into bed with Booth. Brennan for years has insisted that they were just friends. Again, if they just comforted and talked, she would have said so right from the start. And we can tell she didn’t say it literally because Angela was speechless and Brennan asked if she was going to say anything about it. After all, Brennan was probably expecting her to squeal. Brennan left it open for interpretation.

And then, she doesn’t stop Angela from asking for more details. She doesn’t look for a way out of the conversation and Jack coming in would have been the perfect timing. Instead, she allowed Angela to shoo him out!

And tacking on a few other facts about bedroom scene makes it more to me… after seeing Brennan with Angela. At first, I didn’t think anything more happened.

One more thing about this before I continue with B&B… A FanFic reader requested that I write a continuation of The Hole in the Heart for my series of one-shots called, Now that’s more like it! I’ll be continuing the scene of Angela & Brennan since I already wrote a bedroom scene titled Signs of New Life which was based on promos. And I didn’t want to extend the ending because I believe the finale is like a part 2 of this episode.

Booth’s Apartment/Did they or didn’t they?

I love the fact that Booth told Bones that she was staying at his apartment and she didn’t argue. I love her logic for sleeping on the couch and Booth’s chuckled response followed by a cute and sincere thank you. LOL I love the fan ficky part of Booth giving him his clothes to Brennan to wear and her going to Booth in his bedroom for comfort.

It’s 4:47 when Brennan walks into Booth’s room scaring the crap out of him. (Did she bother knocking first?) What if he would have been doing… you know… THAT. Oh, right. I guess that would be fan ficky, too. LOL!) And I wish someone would tell me why he asked if he should put down the gun and why he was grumpy with her at first. (Sigh)

Anyone else snicker at the socks he wore to bed? LOL I’ve always imagined (yes, imagined) that he would be a guy who slept in his boxers. Geesh! We got to see him in his boxers before and one of those times was in his bedroom with the PBD. I really hope we get some PDA with Bones, soon. Seriously, we deserve it after what we’ve been through this season. Did anyone else think Fox should sell t-shirts that say, “I survived Hannah.” I mean, have you seen the House, MD t-shirts and other garbage? (My hubby has a cane just like his… I kid you not. I cringe.)

I was happy when Booth’s expression softened when Brennan started slipping a few tears because she wondered what kind of person she was. He said something like: “No… Come here. No, no, no. Bones, you got that all wrong.” And he offers his hand for her to sit next to him. I was so happy to see that. She coming to him AND he’s offering. Give and take the way a relationship should be. It’s not all one-sided anymore. What a relief! They have both come so far. They were so in tune with each others needs in this episode. Brennan with consoling him at the lab and he was consoling her in the bedroom. Loved it. Loved how he easily used her language of the universe and she saying the very normal… If there was a God, he would have let Vincent stay. Booth: “It doesn’t work that way.” And she accepts it. So good. And she asked for comfort. So, so good!

Now, as I said, I personally think they made love (or at least displayed some sort of physical affection.) But if I’m wrong, I’m fine with it. The important part was they are now in the same place and they are in or ready for a relationship. And if it did happen, I’m fine that we didn’t see anything because it was out of comfort and private. Almost too special to see. Does that make sense? But… I did want to hear it talked about with Angela and Brennan and especially between B&B. I’m still holding out hope that if they did in fact make love that we know before the finale is done. I will be upset if we’re left hanging all summer not knowing. And I want some sort of PDA… like a passionate kiss. What I don’t want is for Brennan to be pregnant. But if she is, I’ll roll with it. Nothing could be as bad as Hannah. (Seriously, I cringed when I watched an episode of House that she appeared in. As wrong as it is, I’ll never be able to watch anything that she stars or guest stars in… and that includes anymore Bones episodes. I just can’t go there.

Okay, one last thing about the bedroom: I loved how he comforted her, holding her tightly and rubbing her back. The words he spoke were soft and comforting. “That’s what I’m here for. I’m right here. I know. It’s hard.” I wasn’t expecting him to add “baby” like he used in the season 5 premier, but I would have squealed if he did.

Booth

He’s back! He became the take charge leader of the squints in their time of need. And he needed to be needed. That’s Booth. Booth with a gun and hunting a foe… hot!

I think that Booth has lost the last of his anger. He’s watched Bones lose the last of her imperviousness. He’s learned that her reaction to his desire to be in an intimate relationship with her in the 100^th episode wasn’t about him. It was about her. She wasn’t ready to be what he needed because she still had those walls up. And all this means that there wasn’t anything wrong with him… which is what I think Bones wanted to tell him in Dare Devil in the Mold at Founding Father’s. Booth had to figure it out for himself. He had to know and believe that there wasn’t anything wrong with him because 3 women had turned away from him. Not having to question his worth means he doesn’t have to be angry anymore.

I love how he acknowledged Vincent as a friend to Genny. He wasn’t embarrassed to be a friend of a squint (that wasn’t Bones, of course.) And although he called Vincent the “English Squintern,” he knew his first name! I love how hard he fought to save him at the end. I love how Booth could laugh at Mr. Nigel-Murray’s antics with the dinosaur skeleton instead of smirk and mock.

What happened to Booth’s access card to the platform? Did anyone else notice that the guard had to swipe him so he could gain access?

Brennan

Nigel-Murray last scene: I love how open she was. She was willing to lie about it being good that he couldn’t feel anything. Her heart was open to say they (she) loved having him there. It doesn’t look like he got to hear her say that he was her favorite. I don’t know if it was true, but the fact that she said it was true. I hope she doesn’t continue to say that she doesn’t have an open heart.

Brennan to Booth: “You still have blood on your hands.” I’m glad that Brennan is still Brennan at the core and that Angela was able to say that she was being literal.

Ending Scene

I loved that they sang The Lime in the Coconut in tribute to Vincent and that Brennan knew Vincent’s favorite song.

I love Brennan’s potted plant… and how Angela defended her and the look of affection Booth gave her and she retuned.

I love the Sweets saluted Vincent as he was driven away.

And I love the smile Booth had when Bones linked arms with him! If something did happen physically between them, then that gesture would have meant that she still needed him and it wasn’t from a moment of weakness… and it would mean that Booth didn’t take advantage of her emotional state.

Miscellaneous

Loved how Cam dealt with Hodgins when he was all up in arms about being told to leave.

I love that the six main characters are a family again… or at least getting there.

Love the looks Booth gave Brennan before he went to bed and again in the ending scene.

Loved the camera shot from Booth’s perspective of his bedroom door closing while watching Bones.

I love how the gang was waiting to find out if Booth got Broadsky and if Booth was alright.

The montage scene was awesome! Loved the music with it, too.

I think Sweets handled Brennan well when she and Mr. Nigel-Murray were so excited. He probably remembered that same thing happening between Brennan and Daisy.

Hodgins liked Vincent’s facts and Cam liked his confessions. She said if those were the worst things he ever did… yeah. That’s sad.

Mr. Nigel-Murray

He was so cute with the dinosaur replica! He apparently liked Booth. It was cute how he acted like a kid calling to his mom or dad to watch him in his dinosaur bones. LOL! I loved how he and Hodgins arm wrestled.

His acting was fabulous and heart-crushing. His pleas to stay seemed like it was two-fold; it was like he was saying good-bye on the show and to his fans. I will miss him and his facts.

In Memory of Mr. Nigel-Murray, a Give Me My Remote writer suggested people leave random facts. I enjoyed reading them. Here are a few of my favorites:

What did I think of episode 621 ?- The Signs in the Silence

Booth: “I’ll tell you what, when you get a good look at that pudgy, little baby face, hormones are going to go wacko, right? And before you know it, BANG! Mama Bones!”
Brennan: “That’s not how it happens, Booth."
Booth: “I think that’s how it works."


I LOVED this episode! It was my favorite of the season so far. I'd say it's even in the top 10 of the series. The case was awesome. It showed more development in Brennan's character. All of the shrinks were in character. Angela & Hodgins were hilarious! (I haven't been too impressed with them this season.) I loved Booth's revelation: He doesn't want his life to be about luck. I don't think he was referring to only Parker, but in a big way, he was referring to his relationship with Bones. Which is huge because she doesn't believe in fate. She wants to know that Booth wants her because he chose her and not for some unknown force because that would make her insecure thinking he may change his mind later when he "learns the truth about her"... as we heard Avalon say in Harbingers. Did you see that look between them after that revelation? Sweet! Loved it!

Analyzing Season 6

In the Boneyard episode forum, Teresa made a great posting about the last episode: The Pinocchio in the Planter. With her permission, I'd like to share her thoughts:

"Hannah.. I think she was a rebound relationship and those never work out. Did he love her, I now think he did, but not in love and not for the right reasons.. She moved across the world for him, she wanted him. He was hurt and then all of the sudden he meets this beautiful woman that wants him. When she first meant Brennan she said, I have heard all about you. Which means Booth talked and talked about Brennan and Hannah stuck around. Now how many woman would stick around when a man is talking about another woman constantly. I think Hannah knew more about Brennan than she did about Booth.

Awkwardness between Booth and Brennan.. I had not thought of it, because I want them together. But, it makes sense. They have both admitted their feelings, they have both turned each other down, but are still working together.. They want to be together, because it is better to be together in any form than to be apart. It would be awkward, it would be uncomfortable. I have seen ex's that are fantastic people, but if you put them in the same room, no matter how civil and friendly, the air changes. These two love each other and don't want to scare the other one away, so they both try to hard to just be normal friends. This is probably what we are reading as no chemistry. Which, I actually applaud the actors on, how they can convince us how awkward they are. They are now actually getting back to the friends they started out to be, it seems to slowly, very, very slowly seems to be growing.


Sweets introduction is what I believe lead to all this dancing around their feelings. He was brought in to see if the Bureau needed to dissolve the partnership.. While his reasons for first being there had only to do with professional issues, it clearly evolved after he realized the intensity of their connection to each other. First, they don't want to have their partnership dissolved, so they fight for it and while doing so Sweets catches on, even if they are both oblivious to their feelings. Second, they believe the Bureau will severe their partnership if they have a relationship, which, I saw on some forum might not be true... The Bureau's policy would cover agents, which might not be valid in Booths and Brennan's case. She is NOT an FBI employee, she is NOT an agent. She is more of an outside consultant. I don't think their policy could regulate that. Her FBI pass when she is in the Hoover building is a Visitors pass working with Booth is a Visitor's pass, not an employee's pass.

Brennan not acting like Brennan - She wouldn't, she has changed, she has evolved. She can't go back to the Brennan she was, she has learned to much from Booth, she has opened herself up.. Obviously she admitted she is still not 'strong' enough, but like any of us, once you get the taste of something good, you don't just stop, you might refrain, but you don't just stop. Booth has been through alot. He has been rejected by 2 woman in a year. He has had his heart ripped out and stomped on, that will change you. Defense mechanism's on high alert, walls have went up, going to take awhile for them come back down. He has shut down while he mends.. This I can relate to, I have done it.. He lives by his gut, by his heart and when you do that and you have that kind of pain, you do anything to shield yourself from that pain, which is what he is doing.. And what Brennan did after her family left and never returned. He brought her out of her fortress, maybe he is slowly emerging from his too."



There's a great new thread in the Boneyard general forum called: Analyzing Season 6

JET started the thread hoping we can all have a place to discuss and analyze this season without the negativity that has been present in many of the episode threads. She writes...

"I believe it is possible to critically discuss what we have liked and disliked, what we wish had been done differently, etc. without getting personal or saying the show has been ruined. IMHO, one way to do this is to speak to what we think and to try to be more analytical than emotional. For example, instead of saying "I hate what they did with Booth's character this season", I might say "Booth's behavior has been so out of character for what we have seen over the previous 5 years. The Booth we knew wouldn't treat Bones the way he did when Hannah was around."

This has been a fabulous thread and would recommend it to anyone who likes Bones.

Review: The Pinocchio in the Planter

Gosh, I don't know where to start. I've watched this episode 3 times and it hasn't gotten any better. It was boring.

The case was lame. But I thought is was going to fulfill a greater good for the characters. To me it fell flat. Moments were missed. This episode had such potential and it failed to deliver (in my opinion).

Angela & Hodgins... not impressed.

Wendell... Actually this is the first episode I've liked with him since he and Angela got together.

Sweets... not bad this time.

Pirus ad... I didn't mind it this time because it fit Brennan's personality. But it was still OOC for Brennan to be driving. I miss Booth insisting on driving and Brennan saying, "I'm an excellent driver."

The final B&B Scene... WTH???



First the good part... When Booth said he knew where Bren's question was going, Bren touched his hand and mentioned the case was done so she wanted to know what he lied about. But.... Booth didn't confess to a lie. It wasn't even an omission. Now I do get the importance of what he said. He was able to mention Hannah's name without being angry. That's a step in the right direction. But it wasn't the pachyderm in the room. The good part was that Booth realizes that Bren was there for him the same way he was there for her after the 100th. B&B have never been good at telling each other how they feel for each other. I saw caring in their eyes, but I have yet to see ES or any of the chemistry they once had. And that is scary to me. Then Brennan says, "Some things are better left unsaid." And Booth says, "To things we don't say." WTH? Hasn't that been their problem all along? WTH???? I really liked the end of the last 2 episodes. B&B looked like they were flirting with each other, but last night's episode was back to the same old partner thing. It was a huge disappointment to me. I thought the point of Hannah was supposed to lead to something for B&B, but even with the blizzard episode, I'm starting to wonder if that will really happen. Last week, I was hopeful, this week, I'm skeptical that Iwill enjoy the finale



There were some good lines & parts though...

Wendell: Are you going to talk to her?
Hodgins: Of course not. She's pregnant. The hormones are running the institution.

I love Booth and Sweets' reaction to the video with the lady hitting the victim in the nose with the trophy.

I loved Angela's term, "shoe ceremony."

Booth: See that. Like your group says, It's always good to tell the truth."
Brennan: In her case, maybe not. (Love the look Booth gave her.)

Cam: There's also a new policy in the lab.
Brennan: What's that?
Cam: You're the only one who's allowed to be radically honest and that's only because I can't stop you.

Review: The Finder

Episode 19 – The Finder (The Spin-off Episode)

I loved this spin-off episode! I give it a “B-”. I was going to give it a “B+” until I read about a couple of ways it could have been improved: Sweets could have been very interested in Walter’s paranoia and Hodgins could have been interested in his paranoia as well for a whole different reason.

Anyway, I hope The Finder gets picked up. I loved the quirky Walter character based on The Locator book series about a Vietnam veteran. And dang! Geoff Stalts is sizzling HOT! Whew! I loved his scenes in the victim’s apartment. Hot, hot, hot. His reason for being there reminded me of the profilers on Criminal Minds, especially Derek and Reid.

I know some people are upset about the episode being used as a pilot for a spin-off, but it did give us an extra week with B&B. (We had 23 episodes instead of 22.) And it was mentioned that B&B and other Bones characters were not on the show much. This made me think of something I was feeling the first half of season 6. To me the first half of the season felt like a spin-off. I wanted to call it the Booth & Hannah show with other Bones characters showing up once in awhile. This real spin-off confirmed why I was feeling that way. A spin-off should only have minimal amounts of time for the original characters. I think I didn't mind that because I knew before I watched it that it was going to be a spin-off. At least the moments we did have B&B and other Bones characters were good. I couldn't say that for the first half of the season.

Some people are worried that Brennan and Walter will try and be hooked up. From the interviews I’ve read, that’s not going to happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some crossover from time to time, but I don’t think it would harm anything. I think it would be silly since the shows are so different. The Finder is so unscientific. However, if they grasp onto the paranoia part for Sweets and Hodgins, then maybe it would work for one episode.

For those of you who read the sides, I was delighted and disappointed at the same time that the script changed in regards to Brennan/Walter dialogue about gratuitous sex. Walter was suppose to ask Brennan to sleep with him if or because he found the medal and Brennan was supposed to say that she didn’t have sex with men out of gratitude. I was hoping that Booth overheard since I’m still horrified by Hannah’s loud outburst in the 2nd episode about thanking Booth for saving her by having sex under a fig tree. But I guess when HH heard about the parallel that fans were making, he didn’t want to go down that route. I’m not surprised though because HH loved Hannah and he still doesn’t understand why so many of his fans didn’t love her like he told us to.

I was very unsure when I saw the previews for this episode, but I still thought it was funny that Brennan slapped Booth when he said Walter may have a shot with her if he found the map. It was all good when Booth hid behind his hand to mouth “sorry.”

EEK! The ending scene: It was sooooo awesome! They totally looked and acted like a couple on a date rather than partners out for a celebratory drink. And both of them looked good in black, especially Booth in his black t-shirt with his arm muscles bulging. Yum! I love how Brennan was able to come to the conclusion that Walter allowed Booth to hold Parker before arresting him. And then she was able to let it go without an argument when Booth still wanted to hate the guy. These are just more examples of her growth and how a B&B relationship would work because not everything has to be scientific to be understood and accepted. Shortly before the ending scene: I liked how Brennan was able to talk Booth into letting Leo and Ike go without arresting them.

Some favorite Moments:

• Booth mimicked the sheriff’s accent in the first scene.

• Brennan repeated Booth when asking, “Which one is the son of a b*tch?” rather than asking which one is the finder or diviner.

• Bones: “Except my thing is real. Not some imaginary finder power.” Loved Booth’s laugh and how Walter took it as a challenge. Probably my most favorite part of the show was when Booth was able to suggest to Brennan what Walter could find for her. It reminded me of when Brennan helped Hannah to buy the phone for Booth. They know each other so well!

• I love how surprised Brennan was at how Walter could figure things out like the victim being visually impaired and that he was dying.

• Another winning performance by Emily when she was so moved by the things that Walter had found for her.

• I laughed at how easily Walter got himself into trouble at the pawn shop. He was just being painfully truthful like Brennan can be. If Booth wasn’t in the picture, I think Walter and Brennan would be hilarious together.

• I love how sincere that Walter is when he is interested in a woman. Walter: “Are you impressed? I’d like to impress you.” Brennan: “Why?” Walter: “The usual reasons.” Walter is so genuine that even a bad girl/meth smuggler can be taken by him! LOL! Walter: “That’s crazy! You’re beautiful.” Awww! Poor Walter. It’s like Ike said in one of the ending scenes: Walter can find anything except lasting love. I loved how Ike and Walter refer to Brennan as “the bones lady.”

• Walter: “It’s amazing how many times people ask me to find something, but the real treasure is something else all together.”

• Walter (to Hodgins): Who are you? Hodgins: I’m her husband. Walter: Are you rich? Hodgins: Where did that come from? Walter: On a scale from 1-10, she’s an 11. Angela: Well, thank you, Mr. Sherman. Walter: Yet, you’re a 7. So, if you’re rich, that just explains the discrepancy.

• Characture of HH on the air tank.

• Loved Walter’s answer to the murderer about what he wanted. “I want Brittany Stevenson not to be dead.” Aww!

• Did I mention that Walter is HOT?

Parts I disliked:

I didn’t like how the timeline changed. How could he have gone AWOL when Parker was born? He was in Iraq or Afghanistan in the early to mid-90s and he started working with the FBI in the late 90s. Hmmm.

And this was REALLY BAD, IMO: When Booth was getting Bones to leave Walter so they could get to the airport, he talked to her like she was one of his dogs… and it ended with a doggy whistle call. Seriously? WTH?

I thought Brennan having Booth get her ID back was OOC. What happened to kick *ss Bones?

Why would Walter catch the killer when he is the finder?

Did anyone else notice that Ike kept the treasure in her bar? I would have rather have seen them return it to the Catholic Church.

Review: The Truth in the Myth

Bones Episode #18 ~ The Truth in the Myth

I loved it! I give it an A! Here’s why:

1. I loved the looks Booth gave Brennan, especially the flirty ones in the final scene!

2. I loved how Booth fooled Brennan into thinking he’d seen the Yeti in Nepal, how she researched it because she wanted to believe him, how Booth reacted to Brennan giving him the benefit of the doubt, and finally, how he revealed that it was all a story.

3. Bones: “Are you trying to confuse me?” Booth: “I might be!” – Loved it!

4. Booth not being the least bit phased when Brennan corrected his grammar (explicable instead of explainable). “Sure… Like us.” Awww!

5. Brennan’s attempts at cracking “moon” jokes, Booth’s reason for not laughing, Brennan accepting his reason and in turn missing his joke, and then his endearing smile at her when she wasn’t looking. It made Brennan’s fake laugh bearable.

6. The pet psychic offering to help the goat and telling Sweets to talk to the horse and chickens for her alibi. LOL! And the bird thinking Sweets had a kind face (I think that’s what the psychic said) and Sweets feeling uncomfortable with it.… too funny.

7. Angela’s great scenes with Cam: Angela is going to remember that Cam said she was a better person than herself. Angela challenging her work by dumping on Cam’s. She really set her straight!

8. VNM knowing the sound of a raisin dropping in a glass of milk.

9. Brennan’s reaction to VNM’s confession to telling his friends that they had a non-committed sexual relationship.

10. Hodgins and VNM’s excitement over the Chupacabra.

11. I loved both times Sweets was in the interrogation room. Loved how he helped write the script and that he was nervous acting with his dad in the first interrogation scene. (What’s with Sweets’ clothes recently? Maybe the person who has been dressing Brennan is now spending time with him?)

12. Booth telling Bones to go ahead and join the public access show since nobody would be watching it anyway. LOL!

13. I love how Hodgins handed the goat over to Booth.

14. Loved Booth’s look of disgust when Brennan was sniffing at the body. “I hate when you do that.” LOL!

15. Loved how Brennan was confused and didn’t like the feeling.

16. Bones: “Why is it called the Pine Tree Manor when it’s obviously planted with cedar?” Booth: “I was just thinking that.” Bones: “Really?” Booth: “No.”

17. Angela: "I read a study that says that husbands who suggest their pregnant wives are fat are far more prone to being slugged by them."

18. Cam asking Hodgins and VNM if they were seriously expecting her to write cause of death as a goat sucker.

As far as what I didn’t like:

1. The scene in Founding Father’s was too short.

2. Booth toasting to job security because of stupidity and greed. It would have been funny if they weren’t working at solving murders.

3. No explanation for VNM not having some sort of consequences for drinking during work hours.

4. I liked VNM’s confessions of his false stories of sleeping with the women he worked with and the grocery coupons, but the other confessions I thought were lame.

Season 6: Episodes 12&13

Bones Episode 13: The Daredevil in the Mold – I give it a B.

I liked this episode. There were a couple of funny moments. The case was okay. To me, this episode was about the relationships. It opened up with talk about relationships. It ended with relationships. And there were scenes in between. The proposal and the ending scene took almost 10 minutes!

Booth & Hannah Storyline

Booth implies to Brennan that she is the one he loves the most. That person she turned away is still there.

Booth is pushed into a proposal by Sweets.

Hannah is looking for a good time.

Booth is looking for marriage.

Booth’s proposal is weak. He says he loves her. He didn’t think he would meet anyone else. Says, “Marry me. I want you to be my wife.”

Hannah isn’t the marrying type, but Booth hasn’t been listening.

Booth did not beg. He just walked away. Booth didn’t want to be alone. Booth was more in love with being in love and being married than he was with her.

Hannah thought they would have more time before it became serious. She knew he was the marrying kind, but she was going to use him while she had him.

Hannah wants to go back and pretend the proposal never happened.

He wouldn’t look at her. Maybe a tear or two. Looks mad and upset.

Booth has determined the relationship is over, wants to know when she’ll be out of the apartment, and he throws the ring in the reflecting pool.

Hannah doesn’t think they’re done, but they’re done for now.

When Brennan tells him that Hannah called, he doesn’t want to talk about it. He’s done. He’s over it. Instead of talking about Hannah, he talks about him being the common denominator. That’s the evidence. Women don’t want what he has to offer.

Booth is mad at all three.

Booth & Brennan’s History & Present

Booth & Brennan have a long-term partnership and close friendship.

Booth told her she is the one. He knew right from the start. He’s that guy. He wants 30, 40, 50 years.

Brennan said she couldn’t change. She needed to protect him from herself because she knew he wanted marriage. She cared enough to let him go.

He held on. He continued eye contact for awhile. Lots of tears and blood shot eyes.

Booth says he has to move on, but he will still work with her. They leave the Hoover with arms wrapped around each others shoulders.

Brennan runs away to Indonesia. Booth goes to Afghanistan.

Several months later after Hannah arrives, she wants him to be happy. She becomes friends with Hannah.

Brennan admits that she has regrets. Upset that they missed their moment.

Booth is mad that Brennan wants to know what’s next. He draws a new line. She has two choices: being just a partner or working with a new FBI guy. She chooses to be a partner.

Can B&B overcome all of this? Yes. I think that Booth not ending it Hannah because something better came along will be more reassuring to Brennan later. I think they have switched places. At FF, Brennan is realizing how much she really hurt him. Brennan will now have to convince Booth that love can last and it's worth it.

Bones Episode #12 (The Sin in the Sisterhood) Review (B+)

The Good, the Funny, and the Positives

In the Corn Field: Booth was interested in what Brennan was talking about.

Booth’s Advice to Cam: How many chances should Paul have? Booth says 9. He didn’t give Bones that many chances. Right away he needed to move on. I know it’s not the same situation, but then he said… “You deserve someone great. And if you feel this guy is “the one,” then don’t let him get away.” Seriously Booth? What a coward Booth is in his personal life. Remember when Booth told Sully not to let Brennan push him away? Booth really needs to start taking his own advice. Anyway, even though I’m mad at Booth for being a, what words does he like to use? Oh yeah… dimwit, moron, bonehead, asshat, numbskull… you get the idea… Anyway, even though this is how he’s acted, I’m hoping he will remember his own advice soon and things will click with him. He needs his loyalty turned toward Brennan who he’s been with for 6 years and not someone he loves “good enough” that he’s known for less than a year.

Wendell: “We’re looking for a horny farmer. Yes, we are.” LOL! I loved all of the Wendell and Brennan scenes.

Phone Calls: I love how excited Brennan was when Booth called (right after the discovery of the horny farmer). Cam ignoring Paul’s phone calls… strange, but I loved how fine Angela was with it… There’s more than one way to communicate. That’s Ange!

Partners: Booth introduced Brennan as his partner! YES!!!!

No Life: (Wendell): “See, Dr. Soryon, it’s okay. No one has a life around here.”

Guns: The pecan farmer was just creepy, but I love how Sweets kept digging at a confession. I think most suspects would have accidentally said what Sweets wanted to hear. And when he listed all the guns… funny. Cam being excited about the gun… funny! I loved these lines…. (Hodgins): Who let Cam shoot a gun? (Wendell): The second amendment.

Religion: Everything seemed right in B&B world when they bickered about Booth’s religious beliefs. I love how he spun around on the barstool gloating. Contestant #1… too funny! After explaining she had filed for divorce, I love his “I told you so” type response… “How’s that for happiness? (Takes a sip of coffee) Ahhhh!”

Angela & Hodgins: Awww! I loved their sweet moment after Angela said she needed a second wife to help her and then asks if he would ever want a second wife. “If I could marry you twice, I would do it in a heartbeat.” And then Hodgins was way too adorable when he discovered something important in the case. “This baby is going to be so proud of me.” And then he kisses Angela’s stomach. Such an “awwwww” moment.

Paul: When he finally gets his act together, he doesn’t take “no” for an answer. I thought the kiss after he pulled Cam to him with the scarf was really cute.

Car Scene: I was one of those people who liked it. 1) Their silliness was IC as seen on a couple of other occasions such as “He likes us” when Sweets wanted to continue seeing them (The Verdict in the Story). 2) In behind the scene footage, it appears that David & Emily are naturally fun together like that. 3) Brennan got caught agreeing with Booth. 4) I love how happy and surprised Booth was at just the fact that his Bones was laughing. I loved this Boothy line: “No more anthropology. You live with three wives, it’s like a breeding ground for revenge and violence.”

Final B&B scene at the FF: It was perfect!!! I don’t really care why Hannah wasn’t there, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Booth had no idea if Hannah was available or not. I love how he very quickly followed his excuse of Hannah’s absence with signaling a waitress for their usual. Now, I’m not sure how a waitress would know their usual after so many months of missing B&B alone times there, but I love how much it communicates a return to the past… well, that’s my opinion. I loved Brennan’s surprise that Ed Samuel didn’t spend his Sundays alone and that Booth immediately knew why he was always spending it with his 1st wife. Very clever of the writer’s to use this story line for Booth to communicate going back to the 1st one, the one he loves the most. It will go a long way in reassuring Brennan of Booth’s love…. As long as the writers don’t screw it up with a proposal or continued relationship with Hannah. I don’t think anyone should deny that the conversation turned into one about B&B because Brennan was obviously asking about them when she wanted to know the “what if”: what if someone lets the “best one” get away? Booth had a great answer that the best one isn’t going anywhere. Booth better not break her heart! I love how Booth was getting caught looking at her. Loved his big smiles and how he was leaning over the table towards her like he used to do so often in pre-Hannah days.

The Annoying, the Bad, and the Negatives

I'm worried about this week's episode. It may have a relatively good outcome, but I'm unsure I actually want to watch it. I don't want to see an emotional Booth because of a break-up with another woman. I never wanted to believe the relationship was actually serious the way SN and HH insisted it was. I don't want to see him buy a ring and obviously don't want to see a proposal. Geesh, I'm upset he was even considering it after what he said to Bones in the last episode. So if SN is actually telling the truth about the conclusion of the Hannah SL, I'm still uninterested in how the writers got to that point. Besides, "big game changer" could actually mean they are engaged and who knows what criptic meaning is behind the conclusion of a SL. I'll watch the Valentine's episode if Hannah is really out the door.

The Corn Field: It’s winter. Do I need to say more?

The 1st Delivery: Why was Paul in a hurry at 6.5 cm dilated? Why had they been there for hours already? Huh?

Sister #2: Wasn’t it suspicious that she would know where the gun and bullets were kept?

Tutor: How was Jasper old enough to be studying chemistry?

Car Commercial: I don’t like the commercials in the episodes. And I’m just having a hard time with Brennan driving without Booth complaining about it.

A Look Back at last week’s episode (The Bullet in the Brain): I’ve been reading on the BY that Booth looks conflicted in the last scene instead of having a longing look. I disagree vehemently. I see longing inside the diner. I see longing mixed with regret when he’s watching her from the window.
